Presenting the heritage of different regions of the Republic of Croatia at the Archaeological museum in Zagreb is a long-planned project, and its first part is dedicated to Baranja, a region in the east of the country which is often neglected, and which is teeming with beauty and interesting things.
After premiering at the Archaeological Museum in Zagreb, the exhibition was held in Beli Manastir, at the Beli Manastir Cultural Center and the Ethnology Center of Baranja’s Heritage.

The Museum of Slavonia will display the part devoted to the rich archaeological heritage.
The exhibition includes two smaller exhibitions:

CURRENT ARCHAEOLOGICAL EXCAVATIONS – BARANJA
Current archaeological excavations are a year-long project of the Archaeological museum in Zagreb – it is a travelling poster exhibition which displays the most recent excavations conducted in the Republic of Croatia. The exhibition permanently changes and widens with new insights and excavations, and on this occasion, it will include sites excavated on the future motorway connecting Osijek and Beli Manastir, as well as more significant sites in other parts of Baranja. With this exhibition, we would like to highlight the importance and the potential of Baranja as an exceptionally interesting and rich archaeological region.

JASA –RESULTS OF ARCHAEOLOGICAL EXCAVATIONS AT THE SITE OF NOVI ČEMINAC-JAUHOV SALAŠ
This exhibition was first presented in Beli Manastir in February 2016, and it displays the preliminary results of archaeological excavations of the Novi Čeminac-Jauhov salaš site which were conducted in 2014 and 2015 on the future A5 motorway. Apart from archaeological material shown in four display cases, the exhibition includes 3D reconstructions of two houses dated to the Migration period, and which is predominant at this site. The same period is displayed through an artistic presentation of an eastern Germanic woman – the reconstruction of her clothes and jewelry found in one of the graves at the site.
